Visions of a Dark Horizon

Here is my reading of ‘Quantum Return’, my first published science fiction story. It was just released in ‘Blink of an Eye‘ from CultureCult Press, available now.

This story was inspired by the classic ‘teleporter malfunction’ sci-fi trope, which is always a great setup for terrible things to happen, but I feel like I’ve added my own existential twist to it. Specifically I took inspiration from the Start Trek: The Next Generation episode ‘Second Chances’ where a transporter malfunction causes the creation of a duplicate Riker, and of course the transporter scene from ‘Galaxy Quest’, where horrible things happen to the pig-lizard. The result, I think, is a sci-fi horror twist on the Prometheus legend that I’m pretty proud of. I hope you enjoy it.
