New Release: Bewitched Whispers — Folklore Reimagined Through Horror

The new anthology Bewitched Whispers from the Signus Magnolia Collective gathers an amazing, international lineup of horror authors exploring their dark takes on the timeless, terrifying roots of folklore.

Every culture has its monsters, its ghosts, its unexplainable creatures. Passed down through generations, these tales once warned of danger, taught survival, and explained the mysteries of the world. In Bewitched Whispers, those same stories are reborn—darker, sharper, and more haunting than ever before.

By twisting ancient legends and amplifying their macabre edges, this collection reminds us that the warnings remain the same:
there is danger in the world. Sometimes the monsters come from beyond our understanding—and sometimes they wear a familiar face.

Version 1.0.0

My story, “Cottage of Shadows,” offers a very different take on Hansel and Gretel. When two children flee their cruel stepmother into the deep, forbidding woods, they believe they’ve escaped one nightmare—until they find the cottage waiting for them. What dwells inside offers warmth and shelter, but at a terrible cost. Is it friend… or devil?

Bewitched Whispers is the second anthology from the Signus Magnolia Collective, following their acclaimed debut Abandoned Altars. Together, these volumes explore the intersection of myth, morality, and terror in ways that linger long after the last page is turned. Featuring works by Donovan Douglas Thiesson, Dibyasree Nandy, Michael Kellichner, F. Malanoche, Jessica Gleason, Chad Anctil, Morgan Chalfant, Ricardo D. Rebelo, Joshua Vise, Cliff Hansen, and Michael Paige.
