Egyptian mythology has always been a cornerstone of horror, and Flash of the Dead: Egypt, now available from Wicked Shadow Press, breathes new (and undead) life into the genre. The collection gathers a cabal of dark fiction authors from around the globe to explore the myths, the monuments, and the monsters of Egypt through the lens of flash fiction. I’m very excited that this collection includes my tale of cosmic horror on the desert sands, The Seventh Gate. I wanted to move beyond the standard “mummy’s curse” tropes and create something unique while still respectful of the history and mythology of ancient Egypt. It delves into the terrifying intersection of ancient rituals and the vast, uncaring void of the cosmos.
