I’m finally home from the amazing Rhode Island Comic Con, and I’m feeling both deeply grateful and a little overwhelmed—in the best possible way. The weekend was incredible, and I can’t thank my friends at the Association of Rhode Island Authors enough. It was my first time doing anything like this, and the folks with ARIA were absolutely fantastic. They made the experience not only easy but genuinely fun.
The most overwhelming part of all was the response to Providence Supernatural Crimes Unit. I sold every copy I brought—not just the ones set aside for Comic Con, but every single copy I had planned to last me through the winter and holiday season. I even gave away all 250 of my bookmarks to curious readers who wanted to learn more (And hopefully purchase later). I’ve been frantically restocking ever since!
There’s something truly special about this book, I can feel it. Of course, as the author, I’ve always believed in it—but this feels different. I can see people’s faces light up the moment I start describing the story. One woman who bought the book on Friday came back the next day to tell me she’d stayed up late reading and couldn’t put it down. That kind of excitement is the dream for any writer.
So, from the bottom of my heart—thank you. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the ARIA booths, to Perspective Publishing for believing in this series, and to all the readers who took a chance on Providence Supernatural Crimes Unit. I hope you fall in love with Riley, Shippe, and the Special Investigations team as much as I have.
Some pictures I took at the con.
